Ponytail: Lazy-Senior-Dev Mode That Writes Less Code
Ponytail is a Claude Code plugin that forces the laziest solution that works. YAGNI, stdlib first, one line over fifty. Less code generated means fewer output tokens, smaller diffs, and less to read back later.

Ponytail puts your agent in lazy-senior-dev mode: the best code is the code you never wrote. It runs a ladder on every task (does this need to exist at all, does stdlib do it, can it be one line) and stops at the first rung that works. YAGNI, stdlib first, one line over fifty, delete over add.
The token saving is a side effect of the discipline. Less code generated is fewer output tokens, smaller diffs, and less for the model to read back next turn. Honest caveat: I only just started running it, so I can't put a clean number on the saving yet. The mechanism is sound, the measurement is still pending. One to watch in the Token Saving bag.
